Overview

Holds a duration (a length of time — hours, minutes, seconds), as opposed to TimerTag which actively accumulates one. Use this for a duration value read from (or calculated from) a device — a cycle time, an elapsed-time reading a PLC already tracks itself, a duration returned by an API.

Value

A duration (days/hours/minutes/seconds/fractional seconds).

Transform options

TimeSpanTag doesn't support any Transform — the Transform field has no effect if set.

Type Attributes

TimeSpanTag doesn't use Type Attributes — the field has no effect if set.

Notes

  • Change Tolerance applies to TimeSpanTag when Capture Changes Only is checked, the same as the numeric types — the value has to move by more than the configured tolerance to count as a change.
  • If you need a tag that actively counts up while running (rather than just holding a duration value read from elsewhere), use TimerTag instead.
