Overview

Holds a file's contents — used for connectors that pick up whole files rather than individual values (a CSV drop, a report, an exported log), or write a file out. Each reading is a complete file: its content, its path/reference, and a checksum for integrity.

Value

The file's raw content (bytes), plus its text content where applicable, its original path/reference, and a checksum (MD5/SHA1/SHA256/SHA384/SHA512) so downstream consumers can verify the file wasn't corrupted or altered in transit.

Transform Options

FileTag doesn't support any Transform — the Transform field has no effect if set.

Type Attributes

FileTag doesn't use Type Attributes — the field has no effect if set.

Notes

  • Capture Changes Only compares files, not a single scalar value — Change Tolerance doesn't apply.
  • If you need to reshape a file's contents (e.g. a JSON or XML file into a different structure) rather than just move the file as-is, consider DataTag, which does support a JOLT Transform, for the parsed content instead.
